Today I am in my room setting up my classroom computers... i felt something crawling across my flip-flopped foot...UGH a large cockroach (very normal for my neck of the woods)...so I chased the sucker down and smashed it...and this bright red goo squirted out! NOT blood-like at all...more like tempera paint texture and color. You know I had to take a picture because no one would believe me.
I told a couple friends about it and just figured the roach must have been in my classroom all summer snacking on a red crayon or red construction paper. So here I am hours later at home and I am still creeped out about this roach.. so I'm online trying to see if this has ever happened to anyone...LOW & BEHOLD...another teacher had a post about the same thing back in 2010, but her roach had a bright green goo....check it out here.
So...it has to be something that these critters ate in the classroom...what do you think?!?
